D New Zealand – Hobart. We fly from New Zealand to Hobart via Melbourne/Sydney where our transport for the week will be waiting for us at Hobart Airport. We then drive to our comfortable accommodation with its splendid river view where we have dinner at the lovely onsite Restaurant
BD Hobart – Tahune Airwalk. After our long day of travel yesterday today is a real leisurely day, we head for the scenic views of the Huon Valley’s rolling green hills and visit the spectacular treetops walk at the beautiful Tahune Forest walkway. This is your time to soak up the beautiful scenery.
B Hobart –Queenstown. Today we head west. We stop in Hamilton for a wander around the mid-nineteenth century buildings. Visit Glen Clyde House a mid-nineteenth century convict-built coaching house now a well known tea room and gift shop. We cross through the Forest reserves of the Derwent Valley and stop for lunch (at your own cost) at Derwent Bridge Hotel, then on to the Nelson Falls Nature Trail for a delightful short picturesque stroll. At the unique mining town of Queenstown, you are free to wander and explore the Eric Thompson Gallery and Museum and discover the interesting history of this unusual town.

Queenstown. We have a delight in store for you today! After a leisurely breakfast we will drive into the incredible Strahan where you will be free to wander around this the township and purchase your lunch before we board our boat for a cruise on the majestic waters of the Gordon River, we have dinner on board before retuning to Queenstown.
(B) Queenstown to Launceston. Today as we head for Launceston we travel through some beautiful scenery, we have as short stop off to view the renowned Cradle Mountain in the distance. We travel through the unique “olde worlde” township of Sheffield (the town of Murals) lunch here then on to our accommodation with its magnificent views. We can have Dinner here in the restaurant.
BD Launceston – Hobart. After breakfast we stop off at Cataract Gorge Reserve where you have the option of riding on the chair lift (at your expense), walking across the Alexandra Suspension Bridge or just enjoying the beautiful view from the glass fronted café. We then head out on the Heritage Highway stopping at Ross with its beautifully preserved regency buildings. Enjoy a wander through the Heritage Museum and Tasman Wool exhibition. We continue on to Hobart, stopping at some more delightful towns along the way, time permitting. We arrive back at our original river-side accommodation with its restful views and on-site restaurant.

Hobart – Port Arthur. The scenic drive to Port Arthur is a wonderful start to an interesting day. On our way we visit the Tasman Lookout and the geological must-see, the Tessellated Beachfront. Then after short drive we enter the world of the convict with a guided walking tour around the ruins of the Port Arthur Heritage site and a Harbour cruise around the Isle of the Dead. You will have a good part of the day here to explore the delightful gardens and plethora of restored buildings as well as buy your own lunch in the café on site. We take a different route out of Port Arthur and return to our wonderful waterfront accommodation in time for Dinner.
BD Hobart. After breakfast we have some time to shop in Glenorchy. We will take a short drive to Brighton and the Boonerong Wildlife Conservation Park where a ranger will introduce us to the Tasmania Devil, Koalas, Wombats, Kangaroos and Wallabies. Then for lunch we drive to the charming historical town of Richmond where we have leisure time to browse the historic buildings take a look at Hobart’s oldest bridge and look around St John’s Church to arrive back in our accommodation for dinner
B Hobart – New Zealand. We have now completed our wonderful tour of Tasmania and we will farewell this lovely island, and take from it the memories we have made. We now make our way to Hobart Airport where we catch our flight where we start our journey back to New Zealand.
