D Depart New Zealand for our 1½ hour flight to beautiful Norfolk Island. Time to settle into our lovely accommodation, with the afternoon free to just relax and rest, or join Brenda on a tiki tour of this beautiful island.
BD This morning we browse the small island market then visit the amazing Cyclorama. In the afternoon, we will have a lot of fun at a unique nine-hole mini golf course right next a “smoking volcano”, and then go for a “Walk on the Wild Side”; a native garden, which is full of surprises.
B Half-day Discovery Tour of the island in the morning. This tour will set the scene for the rest of your stay, and introduce you to the splendours of the island. A perfect beginning of your holiday, as you marvel at the beauty, heritage and way of life that is enjoyed here today. The afternoon will be free, also dinner tonight is at own expense – see Brenda for available choices.
BD We start the day with a leisurely breakfast, after which we do amazing historic Convict Ruins Tour. In the evening we participate in The Progressive Dinner, which will take you from home to home as you enjoy the warm hospitality of four wonderful island families. Experience the rare personal atmosphere that these unique family homes bring to this marvellous evening. BYO if you wish.
BD After another leisurely breakfast, we will visit the beautiful Emily Bay and for those that wish to, take the optional cruise out on a glass bottom boat over the coral reef with a local colourful character, who cracks the jokes and tells the stories. For those who choose not to do the cruise, you can stay at the beautiful Emily Bay, go for a stroll along the coastline or choose to do your own thing. After lunch take a short Tiki tour with Brenda to the highest point of the island Mt. Pitt for wonderful panoramic views
B We will take a scenic drive up to Captain Cook’s Monument which is of historic interest, here we will have some relaxing time, enjoy this beautiful area and have a picnic lunch (own cost). After which, we will visit the local pottery followed by the liqueur distillery (free tastings) and chocolate factory, Late afternoon we will go to Puppy’s Point to watch the sunset.
BD This morning will be an opportunity to do some last minute shopping, get those souvenirs, and choose your own lunch. In the afternoon we will make a goodbye tiki tour around Emily and Kingston Bay, and feed the geese. Dinner tonight is YOUR night as a convict, including the costume for a hilarious time with the Commandant and enjoy a wonderful meal (be prepared to split your sides laughing!!!)
B All good things come to an end. Today we farewell this beautiful unique island and board the aircraft for our homeward journey.
