Duration: 6 DAYS

Highlights: Amazing Punakaiki Rocks, Historic Shantytown, Fairylights of Glowworm Dell Majestic Franz Josef Glacier, Cruise Mahinapua River (weather permitting)

Day 1
D We travel through the spectacular scenery of Arthurs Pass. Stop at Arthurs pass village for lunch, continue through the awesome scenery of the Otira Gorge on to Hokitika or Greymouth for a warm welcome at our accommodation.

Day 2
BD Today we will enjoy a spectacular coastal drive to the unique Punakaiki Pancake rocks. Free time to browse. Then, after dark, we will visit the impressive and peaceful Glowworm Dell.

Day 3
BD Travel through the spectacular scenery to Franz Josef and time permitting onto Fox and the beautiful Lake Matheson.

Day 4
BD Visit the charming historic Shantytown. Ride the delightful steam train and have fun panning for gold. (We are all winners today, you won’t go away empty handed!)

Day 5
BD After a leisurely breakfast we do a paddleboat cruise (weather permitting) on the beautiful Mahinapua waterways and visit their characteristic pub (as seen on TV cheese ad). Purchase own refreshments.

Day 6
B Time to browse the fabulous shops in Hokitika. Watch glass blowing or see the craftmanship of greenstone carvers. Departing about noon to return via the majestic scenery of the Otira Gorge and Arthurs Pass again. Arrive home between 5 – 6.30 pm.

Morning cuppa and bikkies provided from the bus each day.
We stop at various places for you to purchase your own lunch
